2015 – GTS Class Season Finale at Laguna Seca (Sep 1o to 13)

Round 17 of the GTS class for the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) was held at Laguna Seca in Salinas, California (September 10 to 13). This 11-turn road course is about 2.3 miles in length and is known for the iconic “Corkscrew” turn. The season finale was won by Kris Wilson in the #07 TRG-AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT4, with Jack Baldwin second in the #73 GTSport Racing Porsche Cayman S. The championship went to Michael Cooper from Blackdog Speed Shop, with Andrew Aquilante from Phoenix American Motorsports second, and Jack Baldwin from GTSport Racing third. Can’t wait for next year. 2015 – GT Class Season Finale at Laguna Seca (Sep 10 and 13)

Round 20 of the GT class for the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) was held at Laguna Seca in Salinas, California (September 10 to 13). This 11-turn road course is about 2.3 miles in length and is known for the iconic “Corkscrew” turn. The season finale was won by Alessandro Balzan in the #29 NGT Motorsport Ferrari 458 GT3 Italia. However, the championship went to Johnny O’Connell in the #3 Cadillac Racing Cadillac ATS-VR GT3 who finished 12th over Olivier Beretta who had a DNF minutes from the end of the race. Round 19 of the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) was held at Sonoma Raceway on Sunday (August 30). Renger van der Zande won GT class in the #31 EFFORT Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R and GTA class went to Frank Montecalvo in the #66 DragonSpeed Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS GT3. GT Cup class was won by Colin Thompson in the #11 Kelly-Moss Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. Round 18 of the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) GT/GTA class was held Saturday afternoon (August 29) at Sonoma Raceway. Kevin Estre in the #9 K-Pax Racing McLaren 650S GT3 won GT class and Christina Nielsen won GTA class in the #7 TRG-AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT3. GT Class round 15 of the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) was held on Sunday (August 2) at the Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course. Ryan Dalziel won GT class driving the #31 EFFORT Racing Porsche 911 GT3R. Bryan Heitkotter was first for GTA class in the #05 Always Evolving Racing Nissan GT-R-GT3. Teenager Austin Cindric had an impressive weekend for GTA class in the #25 Blancpain Racing Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 REX with pole position for the Saturday race and second place in Sunday’s race. GT Class qualifying for the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) was held Saturday morning (August 1) under beautiful morning light. Top qualifier was Ryan Dalziel in the #31 EFFORT Racing Porsche 911 GT3R with a time of 1:19.838 and speed of 101.816 mph. Later in the day was the drivers autographs which was a great opportunity for fans to meet the drivers. The Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) GTS class testing and practice were held on Thursday and Friday (June 25 and 26). After Practice 2, Mark Wilkins in the #38 Kinetic Motorsports/Kia Racing Kia Optima topped the charts with a fastest lap of 2:17.831 at 105.729 mph. 2015 – Saturday PWC GT Class at Road America (Jun 27)

On Saturday morning (June 27) the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) and North America Sportscar held “Caffeine & Octane” at the RealTime Team paddock. This was a great way to meet the drivers while having a cup of coffee. Later that morning, the GT/GTA/GT-Cup classes held their warm-up session for the afternoon race. Round 12 was won by Chris Dyson in the #16 Bentley Team Dyson Racing Bentley Continental GT3. GTA class was won by Frank Montecalvo in the #66 DragonSpeed Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS GT3 and GT-Cup was won by Colin Thompson in the #11 Kelly-Moss Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. Hope you like the photos.

2015 – Thursday PWC GT Class at Road America (Jun 25 to 28)

The Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) GT/GTA Rounds 11, 12, and 13; and GT Cup Rounds 10 and 11 were held at Road America near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The track is about 4.1 miles in length, with 14 turns, has many elevation changes, and long straights. The track is known as “America’s Nurburgring”. It certainly is one of the most picturesque road courses I’ve been too. Arrived at the track on Thursday in time to cover the afternoon testing and practice sessions. Hope you like the photos.

GT Class Race #2 for the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park was held Sunday mid-afternoon. Johnny O’Connell in the #3 Cadillac Racing Cadillac ATS-VR GT3 won the race. This was a “clean sweep” of the weekend races for Johnny O’Connell. Butch Leitzinger and Chris Dyson in the #20 and #16 Bentley Team Dyson Racing Bentley Continental GT3s were second and third, respectively. GTS class practice for the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) at Canadian Motorsport Park was held late Thursday afternoon under sunny blue skies and beautiful light. Mark Wilkins in the #38 Kinetic Motorsports/Kia Racing Kia Optima topped the practice time-sheets with the fastest lap of 1:24.586 at 104.655 mph. Second on the on the time-sheet was Max Riddle in the #07 TRG-AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT4 and third was Kurt Rezzetano in the #37 Phoenix American Motorsports Ford Mustang. 2015 – PWC Testing at Mosport (May 15 to 17)

The Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) headed to Ontario Canada to be part of the Victoria Day Speedfest at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (also known as Mosport) during the middle of May. The 10-turn natural terrain track is about 2.5 miles long. This is one of the most beautiful circuits I’ve been to with its elevation changes, variety of turns, and long straight set amongst grass-covered hills and trees. This was my first time to Mosport, and must thank all the photographers and staff who helped me, especially the Canadian phototogs! Arrived at the track in time to cover the Thursday afternoon GT and GTS test sessions. Hope you like the photos.

Round 5 of the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) for the GT/GTA/GT Cup Class was held late Sunday afternoon on the streets of Long Beach, California. Olivier Beretta in the #61 R. Ferri Motorsport Ferrari 458 GT3 Italia won the GT class. GTA class went to Michael Lewis in the #41 EFFORT Racing Porsche 911 GT3R, and Mitch Landry in the #97 Landry Racing Porsche 991 GT3 Cup took the top GT Cup honors. Hope you like the photos.

2015 – PWC Qualifying at the Grand Prix of Long Beach (Apr 17 to 19)

The Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) qualifying session was held early Saturday morning on the streets of Long Beach. Olivier Beretta in the #61 R. Ferri Motorsport Ferrari 458 GT3 Italia was top qualifier with a time of 1:19.31 and speed of 89.33 mph. Robert Thorne was second fastest with a time of 1:19.51 in the #6 K-Pax Racing McLaren 650S GT3.
