At this time of year its natural to look back at what you have done, reflect on lessons learnt, be thankful for what you have, and look forward to next year. In some ways 2014 was the first year of my motorsports photography “apprenticeship”. I learnt a lot this year in terms of refining technique, seeing “light and shadows”, composition, and planning. But most importantly, it was experiencing what happens behind the scenes at race car events and meeting the people who make these events happen. Was lucky to have experienced different race series from sprint and endurance sportscar racing to open wheel racing. Special thanks to my wife who let me go away on my race car photography weekends, GTSport Racing, Motorsport.com, North American Sportscar, other photographers, race organizers and staff who helped me this year. Here’s part one of my motorsports photography year. Hope you like the photos. Continue reading “2014 Sebring to Lime Rock Park – Part One of My Motorsport Photography Year”
The TUDOR United Sportscar Championship (TUSCC) series race on the streets of Long Beach was held in the mid-afternoon. The 100 minute race was won by Scott Pruett & Memo Rojas in the #01 Chip Ganassi Racing Ford EcoBoost/Riley. For something a bit different, decided to do illustrate this story with black and white images to better isolate the cars from the busy background. Hope you like the photos.
The qualifying session for the TUDOR United Sportscar Championship (TUSCC) series on the streets of Long Beach was held in the late afternoon. The low light and long shadows helped to create a lot of contrast on the track. Hope you like the photos.
Round 3 of the TUDOR United Sportscar Championship (TUSCC) series on the streets of Long Beach was another event that I didn’t have time to write photo stories about earlier this year. The next few photo stories will be on the prototypes, then the GT sports cars which raced on this famous street circuit. Hope you like the photos.
