Retrospective – 2014 TUSCC Prototype Practice and Paddock on the Streets of Long Beach (April 11)

Round 3 of the TUDOR United Sportscar Championship (TUSCC) series on the streets of Long Beach was another event that I didn’t have time to write photo stories about earlier this year. The next few photo stories will be on the prototypes, then the GT sports cars which raced on this famous street circuit. Hope you like the photos.

The temporary street circuit is about 2 miles in length and consists of 11 turns and is situated around the Expo Center. This was my first time at this circuit, and took me a little while to get my bearings.

2014 Long Beach (222A7154)For the early morning practice session on Friday, I entered the inside of the circuit near the part of the Expo Center which overhangs Season Way, then walked along the inside of the track to the Firestone Bridge, crossed the track, then went to the outside of Turn 9. This was a great place for getting front shots of the cars entering the turn and side panning shots as they exited.  Here’s Sylvain Tremblay or Tom Long in the #70 SpeedSource Mazda Prototype (Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 500mm f/4L, f/8, 1/320, ISO 100)
