After shooting the start of the race at The Esses, I packed up my gear and headed for the “long” walk to Virage Porsche (Porsche Curves). Hope you like the photos.The distance between The Esses and Virage Porsche is not very long (about 3 km or 2 mi), but what makes the walk “long” are the crowds of people you have to get through, especially around the Grandstand areas. Alternatively, I could have walked to Dunlop Bridge, taken Shuttle Line 1 to the Ferris Wheel, then exit the track, and take Shuttle Line 5 to Virage Porsche. Decided to walk since I wanted to shoot at different locations along the way, and also the waiting time for the shuttle can be very long since the lines are long for getting onto the few shuttles available. Also the shuttles still need to get through the same crowds of people you have to walk through and the traffic on the roads. Either way, give yourself plenty of time to get around the track whether its walking of waiting/taking the shuttle, since its a big track (about 13.6 km or 8.5 mi).
