2014 IndyCar Friday Morning Practice at GP of Alabama (Apr 25)

The GP of Alabama was held at the picturesque Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama (http://barbermotorsports.com/higpa-home.php). This was the first time I’d been to this track, and with the help of other photographers and staff, found some great vantage points to photograph the cars on this beautiful road course. What I really liked about this track were the elevation changes and differences in backgrounds for framing the cars in photographs.

2014 Indy Car (HC7A4804)For the Friday morning practice went to the inside of the track where the “giant spider” is since this is a great location to get a lot of variety in your shots because of the close vicinity of the hill along the Turn 4 to 5 straight, Turns 5 and 6, the Turn 11 to 12 straight, Turn 17, and the front straight. Hope you like the photos.
