As part of my airshow photoblog series, I’d like to look back at the Rhode Island National Guard Airshow in 2010. The airshow consisted of static and aerial displays. The main attraction was the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron (Thunderbirds). The Thunderbirds were formed in the 1950s and their first aircraft was the F-84G Thunderjet. Since then the Thunderbirds have flown several types of aircraft including the F-84F Thunderstreak, F-100C Super Sabre, F-105B Thunderchief, F-4E Phantom II, and the T-38A Talon. Their current aircraft is the F-16 Fighting Falcon, which the team has used since the 1980s. Hope you like the photos.
