This year was the 44th running of the Historic Festival at Lime Rock Park. This event is one of my favorites, and always look forward to seeing the variety of historic cars that race around this beautiful race track, and that are on display. Hope you like the photos.

Arrived at the race track early Friday morning, under beautiful sunny skies. After parking the car, walked through the Midway and saw a range of classic cars from vintage to modern.
This Maserati MC20 really caught my eye.
Continued looking around the Midway, as the vendors set-up their displays.

Then headed down the Infield Spectator Hill, though the A Paddock, to the inside of Sam Posey Straight, for my first on-track photography location.

After the session finished, headed over to the outside of Big Bend, to capture the cars speeding down Sam Posey Straight, and into this corner.
Moved to my left for panning shots of the cars going around Big Bend. A beautiful Jaguar E-Type.

Stayed in this location for the Formula Junior open wheelers.
As the session continued, moved again to my left, for another vantage point.

As each session finished, continued my routine of switching to different vantage points, this time went back to my right for photos of the cars entering Big Bend.
During this session, the light continually changed, with some really nice lighting effects. In this case, backlit cars, speeding down the front straight, one of my favorite photos this event.

Went back to the inside of Big Bend, for some “slow shutter speed” panning shots of the cars.
Decided to get some off-track photos, so walked through the A Paddock, stopping to take a look at some of the beautiful historic cars on display.
After having lunch, chicken and chips (my favorite), walked over to the B Paddock, to check out the cars being readied for their on-track sessions.
The intersection of “Trans Am Alley and Historic Lane”.

Its really cool how you can get up close to the cars, and check out there details.
It was a really beautiful day to be at Lime Rock Park, and always like to pause, and check out this view of the track, set against the Berkshire Mountains in the background.

Went back to the inside of Big Bend, but this time, for shots of the cars as they approached the exit of this corner.

On my way between photo locations, checked out some more of the vintage cars on display in the A Paddock.
Also saw a motorcycle on display with a cool backdrop.
“Autodromo”.
This Lotus reminded me of the car that was in a 1970’s era James Bond movie.

For a different vantage point, went to a viewing point from Skip Barber Tower, for elevated photos of the cars speeding down Sam Posey Straight.

With the low afternoon light, always like to go to the The Essess, for photos of the cars going through this part of the track.
Thanks for spending your time reading this photo blog. Looking forward to another day at HF44, at Lime Rock Park.
