MiataCon returned to Lime Rock Park for its third year, set against the beautiful fall-covered Berkshire mountains. What a great event and setting to celebrate this iconic roadster. Hope you like the photos.

Arrived at the track early Saturday morning, under beautiful sunny skies. After parking the car, walked over to the FCP Proving Grounds area, and saw some of the cars being readied for the grassroots racing that would be happening later in the day.
Was really cool seeing an MX-5 Miata RF, in metallic blue paintwork, being lit by the morning sunlight behind it.

Cars were lined up, and ready to hit the autocross track at the FCP Euro Proving Grounds.
Started the on-track photoshoot at the end of the Paul Newman Straight.

Then did some panning shots of the Miata’s as they sped into the Uphill.
Also, tried some rear 3/4 panning photos of the cars, as they sped down the Back Straight, with the red-colored fall leaves in the background.
Continued walking along the inside of the track, to a location where could capture 3/4 side panning photos of the cars, ascending The Uphill. The slow shutter speed really extenuated the fall-colored leaves on the tree’s behind.
Walked further along the inside of the track, and used a long focal-lenght lens, to capture photos of the Miata’s at the top of The Uphill, with back-lit leaves in the background.
Used a wider angle lens, so could capture a photo of the cars at The Uphill, with the Berkshire Mountains in the background, for a “postcard” from Lime Rock Park.

Looked to my right, and noticed a beautiful black Miata RF speeding around the autocross track.
At West Bend, with the #39 Miata and its red, white and blue livery.

Reached the Downhill, for shots of the cars, before they descended out of sight.

After reaching the Downhill, walked to the B Paddock, where their was a large gathering of Miata’s, with food trucks and vendor stands. Was really cool seeing so many Miata’s all in one place, from different era’s, models and colors. Think this really illustrated how MitaCon is a celebration of this iconic roadster.

Continued on my way, and walked over to the A Paddock to check out the Miata’s being readied for on track activities. The Lime Rock Park Miata pace cars looked great in silver and red livery.

It wasn’t long until the on track action started again, so went over to the inside of The Esses to check it out, then walked up the hill to the Infield Spectator area for a view of the iconic Lime Rock Park tower.

For a different perspective of the track, went over to the Outfield Spectator area for some photos of Sam Posey Straight (top) and Big Bend (bottom).

Was looking around for some creative elements, and noticed, near the Pedestrian Bridge, some yellow and red colored bushes and tree’s, and thought they would add fall colors to panning photos of the Miata’s passing behind them, along Sam Posey Straight.

For my last photo session of the day, went back over to the inside of The Esses, for photos of the cars as they sped through this part of the track. Wow, what a great day. Really enjoyed covering another MiataCon. Thanks for spending your time reading this photo blog.
