Was excited to see the cars back on and off the track for the second day of GRIDLIFE Circuit Legends at Lime Rock Park. Hope you like the photos.
After arriving at the track, walked down to the A Paddock, and started with the cars leaving pit lane for the morning Track Battle session. Really liked the dark green paint work on this 1977 BMW CSL Alpina Gosser Beer tribute car.

Continued walking through the A Paddock and saw the Toyota GR Corolla that Larry Chen used for his camera car during the drifting sessions. On Larry Chen’s Instagram he mentioned how Toyota let me borrow this brand new car, which only had 89 miles on it. The additions to the car were a set of Yokohama Tire A052s and a pair of Canon 1Dx’s on the front bonnet. Also, briefly meet Larry Chen, who gave me a couple of his Canon photography stickers, many thanks.

Reached the end of the A Paddock, then walked over to the inside of the Sam Posey Straight, under the bridge, for photos of the Track Battle cars speeding down the front straight. The #269 Attacking the Clock Racing Datsun 240Z (top) and the #146 TP (bottom).
As the cars got closer to me, used a wider shorter focal length lens to capture the cars speeding by with the trees and hills in the background. The #187 Chevrolet Camaro.
Then panned the cars as the sped past me. The #4 Apex.Garage Infinity G35.

After the session finished, went to the outside of Big Bend for the RUSH SR practice session. From this location, you have a great view of Sam Posey Straight (top and middle) and of the cars going around Big Bend (bottom).
It wasn’t long until the GLTC Race 2B started, with the cars 4 to 5 wide as they sped down Sam Posey Straight.
A 2009 Honda Civic Si entering Big Bend.
The red, white and black triangles on the #515 Mazda Miata really made this car stand out.
Between sessions, went back to the inside of Sam Posey Straight for the start of the GLTC 2A race. This race turned out to be a battle between the #41 Acura TSX and the #484 Corvette C5, with the Corvette eventually winning the race.
The #99 Acura Integra leading the #55 BMW down the front straight.
A close-up of the #41 Acura TSX.
Decided to walk around the inside of Big Bend, for photos of the cars exiting this corner, then into the Left Hander, for the second Track Battle session of the day. The #335 Porsche 944.

A couple of photos of the record breaking #715 Nissan 350Z, with its striking red metallic paint work.
Between sessions, noticed there were many fans watching from the Inner Spectator Hill.
Stayed in this location for the first drift session of the day. The Toyota Corolla GR camera car in hot pursuit of the #144 Toyota GR86.
The #69 BMW E46 FDF Raceshop drift wagon.
The 800 HP FCP Euro Audi RS5 made an impressive entrance, with an “explosion” of smoke and dirt.
Close behind, was the FCP Porsche Cayenne, with the Toyota GR Corolla camera car.
The drifting cars kept on coming. The Falken Ford Mustang, with smoke pouring from its rear tires.
Also, edited a photo in black and white, to emphasize the smoke. Wow, what a session. It always amazes me how skillful the drivers are, and the power of these drifting cars.

By now it was lunch time, so headed back up the A Paddock to get some lunch and to rest.

For the mid-afternoon drifting session, went back to the inside of The Esses, but this time went to between the Left and Right Handers for a different vantage point. Into the Left Hand with the #69 BMW E46 FDF Raceshop drift wagon (top) and the #44 NST S14 (bottom).
Watching the FCP Porsche Cayenne and the Audi RS5 drift around the Left Hander in tandem was really cool.
The My.Little.Zenki Nissan 240SX speeding along the straight between the Left and Right Handers.
Also tracked the cars as they drifted alone Paul Newman Straight.
Like in the previous drifting sessions, edited a photo in black and white, to emphasize the stream of smoke coming from the back of the car.
Was amazing how close some of the cars drifted next to each other.
Used a wider angle lens to capture the cars drifting through the Esses with the Berkshire Mountains in the background.

Some more photos of the FCP Audi RS5, with the GRIDLIFE drone (top) and Toyota Corolla GR camera car (bottom) in pursuit.

Next focussed on getting photos of the cars speeding along the straight into the Left Hander. The My.Little.Zenki Nissan 240SX (top) and the Nappy Boy Automative Nissan 240SX (bottom).
The #227 Nissan 370Z.
Another photo of the Nappy Boy Automative Nissan 240SX.
After the session finished, went up to the Midway to check out the vendor area. Started at the entrance of the Midway and saw a Nissan GTR Skyline framed by “cherry blossoms”.
Lime Rock Park had on display a pair of Miata’s and signage about MitaCon that would be happening later this year. Went to this event last year, and had a great time.
Continued walking along the Midway, then went over to the cars on display behind this part of the track.

Wow, the variety and number of classic JDM cars that were on display was amazing. Many thanks to the owners of the cars who brought them to the track.

One of my favorite cars on display, was this Nissan GTR Skyline in metallic blue.

A classic Toyota Celica and Datsun 240Z.
Many thanks to everyone who helped me at the track and for Lime Rock Park and GRIDLIFE holding this event. Had a great time, and thanks for spending your time reading this photo story.
